01
Switching on the online classroom
Open Online lessons (/admin/online-lessons) and choose to use the platform's video, which is one click and metered to your centre, or connect your own. Then choose Online classroom when you book a lesson.
02
Who gets in, and when
The tutor delivering the lesson, the students on it, their parents, and staff allowed to supervise can join, from 15 minutes before the start until 30 minutes after the end.
Families wait until the tutor is in. Your centre chooses whether they are let in automatically once the tutor arrives, or one by one by the tutor.
A parent or staff member watching cannot speak or draw, and everyone in the room sees that they are watching. There is no chat and no recording.
03
The board and the roll
Tutor and students share a whiteboard built for writing with a pen, and the board can be saved as a PDF that families can open later. When the lesson ends, the roll is filled in from who was there, and the tutor confirms it.
04
Home tutoring
Turn home tutoring on at Home tutoring (/admin/home-tutoring). There you set how long before a lesson a tutor can see the full address (seven days unless you change it), the areas you travel to, and your own home visit rules.
Your rules start from templates you can edit, reorder, switch off or delete. Each rule can simply inform, ask the family to agree, ask the tutor to confirm, or block a booking. Families accept your code of conduct in their portal.
One check is fixed and not a setting: a tutor needs a current, verified working with children check to be booked for a home lesson.
05
On the day
The tutor taps On my way, Check in and Check out. A location is taken only at a tap, never in the background. The help button always works and alerts your safety contacts straight away.
If a tutor has not checked out after the lesson's end plus your grace period, they are asked if they are still there, and if there is no answer your safety contacts are alerted.
