Home tutoring
Lessons at home.Run like they'reat the centre.
Home lessons leave owners worrying about a tutor alone at a stranger's door and a family's gate code sitting in someone's texts. XTutio runs them with the care a centre needs: the street shown only around a tutor's own lesson, private notes that go nowhere, your own visit rules, and a tutor's day with check-in, a help button and a timer that notices.

The address window
A tutor sees the street only around their own lesson.
Families should not have to trust every tutor on your books with their address. Outside the window a tutor sees the suburb, and someone else's lesson is nothing at all.
Only their own lesson
Families worry about who can see where they live. A tutor sees a family's street only while they are the one teaching a home lesson there: the covering tutor if there is one, never a cancelled lesson, never someone else's.
Opens before, shuts at the end
The window opens 48 hours before the lesson unless the centre picks another of 7 choices, from 2 hours to 14 days. It shuts when the lesson ends. Outside it, a tutor sees the suburb.
Held by the database
Row security holds the rule for every browser session, and a tutor cannot stretch a lesson's times, move its address or book one at a family's home to open a window for themselves.
Not kept on the phone
Pages that show a street or home notes are sent with no-store, so a shared tablet keeps no copy for the next person.
What the tutor sees
Balgowlah
The suburb only. No street, no notes, no pin on a map.
Condamine Street, Balgowlah
Parking: street parking. Who will be home: a parent.
Shuts when the lesson ends.
Another tutor's home lesson shows nothing at all.
Home notes
The gate code goes to the tutor. And nowhere else.
No family wants its gate code in a group text. Who will be home, getting in, the code and the dog are kept in their own place, read by one part of the code, and never sent on.
Who's home, getting in, the gate code
Tutors arrive at the wrong door or meet the dog unprepared when access details live in old messages. 7 fields a family's notes are kept in: who will be home, getting in, a gate or door code, parking, pets, allergies and anything else. Kept apart from the address itself.
Never to a model, an email or a text
Home notes are never sent to an AI model, never put in an email or a text message and never written to a log. A code check refuses any file that reads them and talks to any of those.
The audit says what, not what it said
When notes change, the audit records which fields changed, never their contents. A calendar invite for a home lesson says "At home" and nothing more.

Your visit rules
Your rules. Your code of conduct.
Rules in a staff handbook are forgotten at the door. Every centre teaches in homes its own way, so every rule is a row you can change, checked at booking and at check-in, and families accept the code on their own page.
Your rules, in your words
Start from 8 templates (an adult at home, a shared open area, set hours, check in and out, no transport, no photos, pets kept away, public places only) and change, reorder, switch off or add your own, up to 40.
Each rule applies its own way
A rule can tell tutors and families, be part of what a family agrees to, be ticked by the tutor at check-in, or stop a booking that breaks it. Hours and public places are checked when the lesson is booked.
A code of conduct families accept
Families read and accept the code on their own page, and the exact text they saw is kept. They are asked again only when the part they agree to changes, and every change keeps a whole copy of the rules.

Home lessons: our code of conduct
Home lessons work best when everyone knows what to expect. Please read this before your first home lesson and accept it below.
- An adult is at home for the whole lesson
- Lessons happen in a shared, open area
- Pets are kept away during the lesson
The legal floor
A current, verified working with children check. Checked on every home booking.
Required by law in NSW for anyone working with children. This cannot be turned off. It is checked on the lesson's date, whatever else your centre has switched on, and families are told:
“Every tutor who visits holds a current, verified working with children check.”
Service areas and addresses
Know where you travel before you say yes.
A mistyped address sends a tutor across town. Set the postcodes, suburbs or distance you cover, and every address is picked, not typed with mistakes.
Where you travel
Saying yes to a family too far away costs a tutor hours on the road. Set postcodes, suburbs or a distance from a campus, and an enquiry, an address or a booking outside them is flagged with the reason, never refused.
Pick the address as you type
After 3 letters the form offers up to 5 Australian addresses. Typed by hand, it is checked once on save, and a doubtful one is shown with a suggested fix. It never blocks a save.
No map key in the browser
The browser asks the portal, never the maps service, so the centre's key stays on the server. Nothing typed or found is logged, sent to a model or emailed.
Maps, travel times and the address lookup need a maps connection: your own key, or the platform's. Without one, staff see a list and plain directions links.

The tutor's day

The front desk should not have to ring a tutor to find out if a lesson started. One card per lesson and four taps tell the centre where things stand.

One tap sends the family one text or email with a travel time.
- 02
Check in
On arrival the tutor ticks each statement your rules ask for, recorded against that version of the rules.
- 03

The timer notices
A little after the lesson should have ended the tutor is asked once. No answer, and your safety contacts are alerted. It checks every 5 minutes.

The tutor's day, in order
Numbered pins for the day's home lessons with the travel time between each, drawn only where the tutor may see the street.
The service area at a glance
Circles for each distance from a campus, with postcodes and suburbs listed, and addresses outside them pinned for staff who keep the address book.
No note on a pin
Every pin is built by name from what may be shown. A home note can never reach a marker.
When something is wrong
A help button. A timer that notices.
Owners worry about tutors working alone. A tutor at a family's home is never more than one tap from the centre's safety contacts, and the timer notices when nobody checks out.
A help button that is never refused
A tutor in trouble cannot stop to make a phone call. One tap emails and texts every safety contact with the address and the last location, and the tutor's screen says only "Sent."
Location only at a tap
At most one location reading, taken at the moment the tutor taps, never in the background, and the screen says so. A family never sees it.
Can't start, priced your way
Nobody answered, no adult at home, it did not feel safe: 5 reasons, and 3 choices for what it costs the family, set by the centre.
Safe by design: a home lesson always needs a current, verified working with children check, and the tutor sees the street only around the visit.

New for home lessons
Travel paid fairly, tutors matched by distance, families in the loop.
The street stays private: tutors enter only their suburb, and families only ever see the tutor's first name.
Travel pay on the pay run
An allowance and a rate per kilometre for each home visit, with a cap, worked out from the campus or the visit before. A visit whose distance can't be worked out waits rather than being paid short.
A travel fee and room between visits
Charge families a travel fee by service or area, shared across families in a group, and keep a gap between visits for the drive.
Tutors matched by distance
Tutors save their suburb and how far they'll travel. Finding a tutor or cover for a home lesson shows each one as about so many minutes away, and nobody is left out.
The family's side
Families keep their own address and access notes, add a photo of the front door, and hear when the tutor is on the way or running late.

Home tutoring
XTutio runs lessons in families' homes with the care a centre needs: a tutor sees the street only around their own lesson, home notes never go to an AI, an email or a text, and the tutor's day has check-in, a help button and a timer that follows up. It sits beside the safeguards on Child safety, books through Scheduling, and new tutors learn the visit rules in Staff training. The online classroom and home tutoring guide sets it up.
Questions centres ask
When can a tutor see a family's address?
Only for their own home lesson, from your chosen window before it until it ends. Outside that, they see the suburb.
Can we set our own visit rules?
Yes. Your rules are in your words, each applied the way you choose, and families accept your code of conduct.
What if a tutor needs help?
The help button is never refused: it alerts your safety contacts with the address and the last location taken at a tap.
