The family page

What each section of a family's page shows, and what you can change there.

Updated 18 October 2026

Why this exists

Without one page per family, staff jump between screens to find a parent's phone number, a child's year level and their recent lessons. The family page brings it together so admin and front desk staff can answer a parent's question quickly and see the whole family at once.

Every family has one page that brings its parents, children, enquiries and recent lessons together. Open it from People > Families by pressing the family's row.

Before you start

Anyone with families.view can open the page. Changing anything on it needs families.edit. Finance and marketing staff may see the page but not change it.

What is on the page

  • The heading shows the family name, its campus, and "tutoring family" when the family came to you for tutoring.
  • Parents lists each parent who can sign in, with their email and phone.
  • Students lists each child with their year level. Under each child you will find their own details, any centre fields your centre keeps, and their account panel.
  • Enquiries shows the enrolment enquiries this family made.
  • Upgrades shows extras the family has, such as exam prep or languages.
  • Recent lessons shows the latest lessons for the family's children.
  • External ids and the HubSpot mirror show links to other systems, when your centre uses them.

Things you can do here

  • Add or cancel an upgrade. See Family upgrades.
  • Close a child's account, or open it again. See Closing a child's account.
  • Review possible duplicates with Review duplicates, when you are allowed to merge families.
  • Send a parent a sign-in invitation from the parent's row.

Good to know

  • A merged family shows a notice with a link to the record it was merged into.
  • A campus-restricted staff member cannot open a family at another campus.
