Managing your centre's training
Give staff training with templates and rules, see who is behind, manage subject clearances, and choose booking checks, paid time and reminder emails.

Why this exists
Keeping track of who has done which training, who is cleared to teach what and who is overdue is a spreadsheet job in most centres. The training overview shows every staff member against what your centre requires, and templates give new staff the right courses automatically. You can see gaps before they matter at booking.
Admins with the training.manage permission run the centre's training from Training > Training overview. An admin limited to some campuses sees and acts on staff at those campuses only; templates, rules and settings are centre-wide, so only an unrestricted admin changes them.
See where everyone is
Training overview shows your staff against the training your centre requires. Open a person to see each course, their test attempts and clearances, and to assign a course, change a due date, Waive a course, apply or remove a template, or clear them for a subject by hand (another admin has to clear you).
Training templates
A template is a set of courses given together, such as a new tutor's base training.
- Go to Training > Training templates.
- Press Start from the recommended new tutor path, or make your own.
- Add courses and choose for each whether The whole course is paid or Test only (the lessons are own-time study), and when it is due, such as Before their first lesson.
- Press Save template.
Give a template to one person from their page (Apply a template), or when you invite them on People > Logins and roles. To give it automatically, add a rule under Who gets it automatically (by role and campus), then Apply to existing staff if you want current staff to get it too.
Subject clearances
Training > Subject clearances shows who is cleared to teach which subject and year group. A tutor is cleared by passing that subject's test, or an admin can clear or revoke a clearance from the person's page.
Course results
Training > Course results shows how staff do on each test and the questions they miss most, so you know what to go over.
Settings
Training > Training settings has three parts:
- Checks when a lesson is booked: the working with children check, training needed before a first lesson, and clearance for the lesson's subject and year. Each is warn (book it and say what is missing) or block (refuse). Start on warn. Changing these also needs settings.edit.
- Paid training: tutors are paid a set amount for each required course they finish, once. Turn it on here (off, or on with live sessions paid at each tutor's base rate or a rate you set). Changing this also needs payroll.edit or settings.edit. If your pay run does not show training lines yet, paid training is not switched on for your centre yet.
Course pay
Open Course pay to set what each course pays. Choose Change the amount on a course, type the amount in dollars (leave it blank for no pay) and the date it applies from (today or later), then Save amount. A new amount applies to courses finished on or after its date; a course already finished keeps the amount it had.
- Only a course required of that tutor when they finish it is paid (from a template, a rule or an admin). Optional library courses are never paid.
- A tutor is paid for a course once, even if they finish it again.
- Time spent on a course is not paid. Required live training sessions are paid for the time attended.
- Changing an amount needs payroll.edit, two-step sign-in, and an admin who is not limited to some campuses, because it covers the whole centre.
- Emails, both off until you turn them on: reminders 7, 3 and 1 days before required training is due (and weekly once overdue), and a weekly summary for admins on Monday.
