Live training sessions
Inductions, workshops and shadowing sessions: answer an invitation, join on the day, and for admins, schedule one and mark who came.

Why this exists
Inductions, workshops and shadowing are often organised by email, and attendance is easy to lose track of. Training sessions schedule them in the portal, invite the right people, send changes and reminders, and put attendance on each person's training record.
Alongside courses, your centre can run live training: an induction, a workshop, shadowing or a refresher. A session is online in the app, online at another link, or face to face at a campus.
If you are invited
- Open Training > Academy and go to My training sessions.
- Open the session to see when and where, and how to join.
- Answer whether you can come. If a group is full, it says This session is full.
You are told by email or notification when you are invited, when the time or place changes, before it starts, and if it is cancelled. Once the host marks you present or late, the session goes on your training record.
Scheduling a session (admins)
You need training.manage.
- Go to Training > Training sessions and press Schedule a training session.
- Give it a name and choose how it is held: in the app (a meeting room opens for everyone invited), at an online link, or at a campus, with a room if you like.
- Set the date, time, host and group size, or one-on-one.
- Invite people by name or Everyone in these roles. Link required courses if it covers them.
- Press Schedule session. Invitations go out.
A room already booked for a lesson is a warning, not a refusal.
On the day and after
- The host, or someone with training.manage, opens the session and marks each person present, late or absent, then presses Save attendance.
- Once anyone is marked, the time and place cannot change and the session cannot be cancelled.
- To cancel before it starts, press Cancel the session and say why. Invitees are told.
Good to know
- An admin limited to some campuses can only schedule at their campuses.
- If the page says training sessions are not switched on yet, they will appear once they are.
