Your Today page
What the Today page shows when you sign in, and how to get from it to the roll, the wrap-up and the classroom.
Updated 18 October 2026
Why this exists
Starting the day by checking several screens for rolls, lessons, mail and tasks wastes time and lets things slip. The Today page puts your day and everything waiting on you in one place as soon as you sign in. You can see at a glance what to do next.
The Today page is the first page you see after signing in. Open it any time from Home > Today. It shows your day and what is waiting on you, so you rarely need to go looking.
What is on the page
- The header: the date on your centre's clock, a line about the day, quick actions and a few figures. The quick actions match what you are allowed to open, for example New lesson, New message, New document, Start a meeting and Report incident.
- Rolls to mark: lessons that have started and still need their roll.
- The lesson on now or next, with buttons such as Join classroom (online lessons), Mark the roll, Wrap up and Open lesson.
- Today's timeline and the week ahead.
- A side column of what waits on you: homework to mark, mail and family messages, and your tasks (follow-ups, reminders and to-do lists). Admins also see a short centre snapshot that links to the centre overview.
Steps after a lesson
- Find the lesson under the one on now, or in the timeline.
- Press Mark the roll and mark each student.
- Press Wrap up to write your notes, the family update and any homework.
Good to know
- If your week looks empty, check the notice at the top. While your centre's Teachworks is not connected or has not synced yet, the page says so instead of "All clear".
- If your centre manages lessons in Teachworks for now, a past lesson reminder asks you to mark those lessons in Teachworks. Nothing on this page changes them.
- Report incident is in the header on every staff screen, as well as on this page.
