Phone notifications

Get lesson reminders, lesson changes, notices and new messages as notifications on your phone.

Updated 18 October 2026

Why this exists

If you only hear about a lesson change when you next open the app, it may be too late. Phone notifications let you know about reminders, changes, notices and new messages even when the app is closed. They never show your child's name or the words of a message on your lock screen.

If your centre has phone notifications switched on, you can get alerts on your phone, tablet or computer, even when the app is closed.

Turn them on

  1. On an iPhone or iPad, first add the site to your Home Screen: open it in Safari, tap the Share button, then Add to Home Screen. Open the app from your Home Screen.
  2. Go to Notification settings.
  3. In the Phone notifications card, press Turn on notifications.
  4. Allow notifications when your phone or browser asks.

Choose what you get

Each device can have its own choices. Untick any you do not want:

  • Lesson reminders: the day before and an hour before a lesson.
  • Lesson changes: when a lesson is moved or cancelled.
  • Notices from the centre: closures, cancellations and safety notices. Never promotions.
  • New messages: a new message in the portal.

Good to know

  • Notifications never show your child's name or the words of a message. Open the app to read it.
  • Promotions are never sent as phone notifications.
  • To stop, press Turn off on this device.
  • If your browser says notifications are blocked, change that in your phone or browser settings, then try again.
  • If the card says notifications are not switched on yet, your centre has not turned them on.
