Adding files to a lesson for the tutor

Add homework sheets, notes or a school notice to one of your child's lessons so the tutor sees it before or during the lesson.

Updated 18 October 2026

Why this exists

A school worksheet or notice is often sent by email or brought to the lesson on paper, and sometimes it never reaches the tutor. Adding it to the lesson means the tutor finds it right where they need it, before the lesson starts. Nothing gets lost in an inbox.

If your child has a homework sheet, class notes or a notice from school that the tutor should see, you can add it to the lesson itself. The tutor finds it right on the lesson.

Before you start

Your centre's admin switches this on in Settings > Features. If you do not see Files for your tutor on a lesson, it is not switched on for your centre yet. Ask your centre's admin.

It is on lessons booked in the portal. A lesson your centre still manages in another system does not show it.

Add a file

  1. Open Lessons and open the lesson.
  2. Under Files for your tutor, press Add a file for your tutor.
  3. Pick the file. It is added once the upload is checked.

To remove one you added, press Delete beside it.

What you can add

  • PDFs, photos and pictures, Word, Excel and PowerPoint files, up to 20 MB each.
  • Up to 10 files from your family on one lesson. Delete one to add another.

Who sees them

  • The lesson's tutor, or the tutor covering it.
  • Staff at your centre who look after lessons.
  • You, the other parents in your family, and your child.
  • Other families on a group lesson never see your files.

The tutor gets a message in the app saying a file was added, without the file's name. Nothing you add is read by AI.

Good to know

  • Your child can add files too, from Year 7.
  • For an upcoming exam, add the exam on Exams and attach the notice there, so it also shows on the calendar.
