Cancelling a lesson and what it costs

Cancel a lesson from your portal, see exactly what it costs before you confirm, and book a makeup.

Why this exists

When plans change, you want to cancel quickly and know what it will cost before you commit. The portal shows you the exact figure under your centre's policy before anything happens, and lets you pick a new time in the same step. You do not have to ring the centre or wait for a reply.

You can cancel a lesson from your portal. Before anything happens, you see exactly what it will cost under your centre's cancellation policy.

Steps

  1. Open the lesson from Lessons or your calendar.
  2. Choose Cancel lesson.
  3. Read the figure shown. It may be no charge, a late cancellation fee, or the full lesson, depending on how much notice you give.
  4. Choose a reason. If your tutor asked you to cancel, pick My tutor asked me to: there is no fee.
  5. Press Cancel and pick a new time to book a makeup straight away, or cancel without rebooking with Confirm cancellation (or Cancel and accept the charge when there is a fee to pay now).

How much notice

Your centre's cancellation policy shows its own numbers. In general:

  • Plenty of notice: no charge, and you are owed a makeup.
  • A little notice: a late fee.
  • Very little notice, or after the lesson has started: the whole lesson.

Late fees can be cleared

Many centres hold a late fee for a few days. If your child attends a makeup in that time, the fee is cleared. Booking the makeup is not enough on its own.

Good to know

  • If the cost changes while the sheet is open, you are asked to read the new figure before confirming.
  • When your centre or tutor cancels, you pay nothing and are owed a makeup.
  • Cancelling a makeup, or a lesson you have already moved, does not give you another makeup.
  • You cannot cancel a group lesson that other families are in. Contact your centre instead.
  • Makeups you are owed are listed under Makeups.
  • If your centre manages lessons in another system for now, the portal tells you to contact your centre instead.
