Travel pay, travel fees and spacing for home lessons
Pay tutors for getting to a home, charge families a travel fee, and set a shortest visit and a gap between visits.

Why this exists
Home lessons cost tutors time and fuel, and back-to-back visits across town do not work. These settings let the centre owner pay tutors for travel automatically in the pay run, charge families a travel fee where you choose to, and stop visits being booked too close together. Tutors are paid fairly for the driving, and the office stops booking impossible days.
Three settings for the money and timing of home lessons. Each is off until your centre sets it. If you do not see these cards, they are not switched on for your centre yet.
Before you start
Open Settings > Home tutoring. You need settings.edit and two-step sign-in. Travel pay also needs permission to edit payroll.
Tutor travel pay
Under Tutor travel pay, set an amount per visit and an amount per kilometre, with a cap, from a date (today or later). Choose where the trip starts: The lesson's campus, or The tutor's previous home visit that day (else the campus).
- Each completed home visit adds one travel line to the pay run, paid once, at the rates in force that day. Lesson pay is not changed.
- You can choose to pay travel when a tutor reported they could not start.
- Distance comes from Google Maps when it is connected, otherwise a straight line stretched to allow for roads, and the line says so. A visit whose distance cannot be worked out waits for a later pay run rather than being paid short.
- Travel is one way, to the home.
Travel fee for families
Set a fee for each home lesson by service, or by the area you travel to (an area's fee is used instead of the service's; $0 means no fee there), and the date it starts.
- Tick the box to confirm families will be told.
- Save travel fee. The wording appears on your public cancellation policy and the billing policy screen.
The fee is its own line on the family's account, split across families in a group lesson, and withdrawn if the lesson's charge is withdrawn. It is never charged before its start date, before your terms say so, or while your centre has paused family charging.
Visit length and travel time between visits
Set a shortest home visit and a gap between a tutor's visits. Where Google Maps can work out the drive, that time is the gap needed. Choose Warn, and let staff book it anyway, or Refuse it.
