Booking and repeating lessons
Book a lesson from the calendar or the New lesson form, and make it repeat with every date checked first.
Updated 18 October 2026
Why this exists
Booking a term of weekly lessons one by one is slow, and it is easy to land one on a closure day or a tutor's leave. Here you set the pattern once and see every date checked for clashes, closures, leave and compliance before anything is booked. Front desk and admin staff get a whole term booked in one go, with no surprises later.
You can book a lesson from an empty slot on the calendar (quick booking) or from the full New lesson form. Both can make a lesson repeat.
Before you start
You need permission to create lessons. Your centre's services and prices should be set up, because each lesson takes a service from your centre's list.
Steps
- On Scheduling > Calendar, click or tap an empty slot. Or open New lesson.
- Choose the student, the tutor, the service, the date, the start time and where it happens: in person at the centre, online, or at the student's home if your centre offers home tutoring.
- Under How often, choose Does not repeat, Weekly, Fortnightly or Weekly on chosen days.
- Choose when it ends: after a number of lessons (2 to 60), on a Last date, or Until the break (the day before your centre's next run of closure days lasting five days or more).
- Read the summary line and the list of dates. Each date shows any tutor or room clash, closure, leave, or compliance warning.
- Skip any date that clashes, then book.
Good to know
- A repeat books the main student only. To add more students, book single lessons or add them week by week.
- Every repeating date is on your centre's clock, so a weekly 4 pm lesson stays at 4 pm across daylight saving.
- A clashing date cannot be booked. Skip it and it is recorded as cancelled, so it is never booked later.
- If your centre's lessons are managed in Teachworks for now, book in Teachworks instead.
