Learn and hearing questions read out

How the Learn page picks topics for your year, and the speaker that reads questions to you.

Why this exists

This helps you find topics to learn for each subject. You can learn at your own pace.

Learn is where you find topics to learn for each subject. Tap Learn in the menu, then pick a subject.

Which year are you in?

Learn shows topics for your school year. If your centre does not have your year yet, Learn asks Which year are you in? the first time you open a subject.

  1. Tap your year.
  2. Learn shows the topics for that year.

Your answer is only used by Learn. If it looks wrong, tell your parent or your tutor so they can fix your year.

Hearing a question

If you are in Kindergarten, Year 1 or Year 2, you will see a speaker next to questions and their answers. Some older children who use the easier-to-read settings see it too.

  1. Tap the speaker.
  2. Your device reads the question out loud, then each answer with its letter.

Maths is read in words, like "3 over 4". The reading happens on your own device, so nothing is sent anywhere.

Good to know

  • If you cannot hear anything, check your volume and that your device is not on silent.
  • You can tap the speaker again to hear it again.
