Games and drills
How to play the learning games, change the settings, and why missed questions come back.
Why this exists
The games make practising maths and English fun. They also bring back the things you found tricky, so you get better at them.
The games help you practise maths and English. Open Games to see them all.
The quick drills
- Times Table Trial
- Maths Sprint
- Number Crunch
- Place Value Builder
- Fraction Frenzy
There are word games too, like Spelling Challenge, Grammar Detective and Vocab Match.
Playing a drill
- Choose a game.
- Press Play. It starts with the settings you used last time.
- Want something different? Choose Change first, then pick your settings.
- Answer as many questions as you can.
On an iPad, the question sits next to the number pad.
Missed questions come back
If you get a fact wrong, the games remember it. It comes back later, in a few days, until you get it right a few times. That is how it sticks.
Games as homework
Sometimes your tutor sets a game as homework. Open it from your homework list. When you finish, the homework is marked done.
