Your Bushmate

How your Bushmate grows, how it earns gear, and what happens on rest days.

Why this exists

Your Bushmate is a friend who learns with you. It grows when you learn, so you can see how far you have come.

Your Bushmate is a little Australian animal that learns with you. You pick a quokka, a sugar glider or a platypus.

Growing up

Your Bushmate starts as an egg. Then it grows into a joey, then young, then grown.

It grows when you:

  • look after it,
  • do real learning, like maths, spelling and reading,
  • spend time together.

Open your Bushmate to see how close it is to growing.

Gear

Your Bushmate earns gear when you learn. Nobody can buy it.

  • Maths earns the Counting Scarf and later the Abacus Charm.
  • Spelling and reading earn the Bookworm Bandana and later the Storybook.
  • Lots of maths AND lots of words earns the rare Golden Wattle Crown.

When you earn something new, your home page says New gear!. Your Bushmate wears its gear in the games too.

The Market

You earn coins by learning. Spend them in the Market on food, toys and outfits for your Bushmate.

Rest days

On weekends and days your centre is closed, your Bushmate rests too. If you are away for a while, it will be happy to see you when you come back. It never gets less fond of you.
