Leavers and exit surveys
Record why a family leaves, ask a departing tutor why they are going, and see the reasons over time on the Leavers page.

Why this exists
When a family or tutor leaves without saying why, the centre owner has nothing to learn from and no chance to fix the cause. This page records the reasons, whether they would come back, and what you are following up, with a follow-up raised for reasons you can act on. Over time you can see patterns instead of guessing.
People > Leavers shows why families and staff leave, whether they would come back, and what the centre is following up. It has a Families tab and, for the owner and admins only, a Staff tab.
Before you start
- Reading the Families tab needs families.view. An admin limited to some campuses sees families at those campuses.
- Switching either survey on needs settings.edit, and an admin limited to some campuses cannot change it.
- Both surveys are off until your centre switches them on on this page. If you do not see them, they are not switched on for your centre yet.
The family exit survey
With The exit survey on, a family's reason is recorded two ways:
- A parent who closes their own account is asked why.
- On a family's page, staff who can edit families use Record why this family left to note what the family told them: the main reason (cost, the schedule, the child is doing well, not enough progress, tutor fit, moving, something else), whether they would come back, and any comment.
A reason of tutor fit or not enough progress raises a follow-up once: a conversation in the team inbox if your centre has one, otherwise an email to your admins.
The staff exit survey
With The staff exit survey on, an owner or admin opens a leaving tutor's or staff member's page under People > Logins and roles and presses Send exit survey link. The person gets a one-time link, valid for 14 days. They say why they are leaving, whether they would come back and what to change. Sending it again replaces the earlier link.
Only the centre's owner and admins can read the answers. A manager below admin never sees why someone left.
Reading the results
Each tab shows leavers by month and reason, and each answer. Filter by reason to look closer.
