Notices in the app
Show a broadcast inside the app as a notice for parents, students or staff, and end it when it is no longer needed.
Updated 18 October 2026
Why this exists
An email about a closure or a change can be missed, buried or filtered as junk. A notice sits at the top of the app where parents, students and staff already look, so the people you are trying to reach see it next time they open the app. You choose how long it stays, and each reader can close or pin it for themselves.
A notice is a message shown inside the app, at the top of people's home pages and on their Notices page. Notices come from broadcasts.
Before you start
In-app notices must be switched on for your centre. If Also show in the app does not appear on the broadcast screen, ask your centre's admin; it is not switched on for your centre yet. To send one you need the communications.broadcast permission.
Post a notice
- Open Broadcast and write your message.
- Tick Also show in the app.
- Optionally choose Show until, the date the notice ends by itself.
- Send the broadcast. The notice appears for the people the broadcast was for.
Who sees it
- A notice is shown by audience and campus, worked out when each person opens the app.
- A promotion is never shown to a student, and a family promotion shows to parents only.
- An emergency notice is marked Emergency and cannot be closed until it ends.
Reading notices
- Up to three notices show on the home page, with See all notices for the rest.
- Each person can close or pin a notice for themselves.
- Staff with communications.broadcast can end a notice for everyone from the Notices page.
