Accounts that need a review

Sort out people who signed up themselves and tutors who were never set up, from one filtered list.

Updated 18 October 2026

Why this exists

Without this list, people who signed up themselves and tutors who were never fully set up are scattered across the Users page, and a new tutor can sit waiting for days without anyone noticing. As an admin, you get one filtered list that shows everyone who needs something from you and why, so you can clear it in a single sitting and nobody is left stuck on a waiting page.

Someone who signs up on your sign-in page can do nothing until an admin gives them a role. The Needs review list on the Users page gathers them so you can sort them in one sitting.

Before you start

You need users.edit to change a role or remove a sign-up. You see only people in your centre and, if you are campus-restricted, your campuses.

Open the list

  1. Open People > Logins and roles (Users).
  2. Press Needs review. A chip shows "Showing: Needs review".

Each person shows why they are on the list:

  • Waiting for a role: they signed up on the sign-in page. Give them a role, or remove the sign-up.
  • Tutor never set up: an older sign-up that was made a tutor by default, with no role, pay rate or Teachworks link.

Give someone a role

  1. Open the person.
  2. Choose their role and save. If they already show the right role, the button reads Confirm role, which finishes setting them up.

Remove a sign-up

On the person's page, press Remove this sign-up and confirm. The account is deleted and cannot be brought back. You can only remove an account that is still waiting for a role, and never your own.

Good to know

Until someone has a role, they see a waiting page and cannot open anything else.
