Keeping your home details up to date

Add or correct your address for home lessons, tell the tutor how to get in, and tick off the first-visit list.

Updated 18 October 2026

Why this exists

Telling each new tutor how to find your home, where to park and who will be in can mean the same phone call again and again. Where your centre allows it, you can keep your address and notes up to date yourself, so the tutor arrives knowing what they need. Your notes are shown to the tutor only shortly before their own lesson.

Some centres let families look after their own details for home lessons. If you do not see these options on Home lessons, your centre has not switched them on. Contact your centre to change your details instead.

Your address

  1. Open Home lessons.
  2. Choose Add an address, start typing, and pick yours. If it is not listed, choose Enter it yourself.
  3. Save. You can keep up to five addresses, for example for a second household.

Notes for the tutor

Add who will be home, how to get in, the gate code, parking, pets, allergies and anything else the tutor should know. You can also add a photo of the front door or of where to park. Please do not include people in a photo.

Your tutor sees the notes and photos only shortly before your lesson, and only for their own lessons. They are never put in an email, a text message or the AI assistant.

First-visit list

Your centre may give you a short list to get ready, such as a quiet table and an adult at home. Tick each item as you go.

Reminders

If your centre sends them, you get one text (or an email if there is no mobile) the evening before a home lesson, with the tutor's first name and the time. The address is never in it. You may also get a message if the tutor is running late.

Good to know

Your centre is told that you changed something, so they can check it.
