The family referral offer
Run a refer-a-friend offer where both families get account credit, set its numbers, and check referrals that were flagged.

Why this exists
Word of mouth is how many families find a centre, but tracking who referred whom and remembering to reward them is easy to drop. The referral offer gives families a link to share and credits both families once the friend qualifies. Families are thanked fairly and you do not keep a spreadsheet.
Families can share a link or code with a friend. When the friend enrols, both families get credit on their account. Credit only: nothing is paid out as cash.
Before you start
- The page is Finance > Family referrals and needs referrals.edit. Changing the offer needs settings.edit.
- The offer is off until you tick Run the referral offer. Saving the offer, and approving or declining a flagged referral, ask for two-step sign-in.
Set the offer
On the referrals page, under The offer:
- New family gets ($): taken off their first invoice after their first paid lesson. The starting value is $100.
- Referring family gets ($): added once the friend has qualified. The starting value is $100.
- Qualifying lessons: lessons the friend has paid for and attended (1 to 20).
- Most one family can earn a year ($): 0 means no limit.
- Credit lapses after (months): families are told the date.
Your public terms page is built from the same settings, so what families read always matches what the portal does. Changing the numbers later never changes the deal a friend was already promised.
How it works
- A parent opens Refer a friend, copies their link, or shares it by WhatsApp, text or email.
- The friend gives the code when they sign up.
- When the friend qualifies, both credits are posted and shown on each family's next invoice. Each family is told in the app.
A referral that looks wrong is flagged for an admin to approve or decline. It is never blocked automatically.
Good to know
- While your centre has not started charging families through the portal, no credit posts. Referrals wait and post when charging starts.
- Friends are never named to the referring family, and there is no leaderboard.
