Mailbox keyboard shortcuts and search
Move through your mail with the keyboard, and search by sender, recipient, subject, attachments and more.
Updated 18 October 2026
Why this exists
Clicking through mail one conversation at a time is slow when you have a stack to get through. Keyboard shortcuts let you read, archive and reply without reaching for the mouse, and search finds an old conversation by sender, subject or attachment in seconds.
The mailbox uses the same keys as Gmail and Outlook on the web. Press ? in Mail to see the list at any time.
