Selling lesson packs
Sell a block of lesson credits to a family, handle pack requests and refunds, and know what happens when credits run out.

Why this exists
Tracking prepaid lessons in a spreadsheet makes it easy to lose count, and families are left unsure how many lessons they have left. For finance staff and admins, a pack is a block of credits for one student that each taught lesson spends. Families can ask for a pack or a refund from their portal, and you handle each request in one place.
A lesson pack is a block of credits for one student. Each lesson taught spends one credit.
Before you start
You need the billing.edit permission. Packs are under Finance > Lesson packs.
Sell a pack
- Open Packages.
- Under Sell a new pack, pick the family and the student (the student must be in that family).
- Enter the number of credits and the price.
- Leave the expiry date empty unless you have told the family otherwise. Credits are then refundable for as long as they are unused.
- Save. The credits are active straight away.
To add credits to an existing pack, use Top up on it.
When a family asks for a pack
Parents can ask for credits from their portal. Requests land in Finance > Package requests, where you work each one through to approved (the pack is made) or declined. Approving needs billing.edit.
Refunds
Parents ask for a refund from their pack's page. Requests land in Finance > Refund requests. Use Refund package to refund unused credits, or decline with a reason.
Good to know
- When a student runs out of credits, they keep being taught, and each lesson is invoiced at the lesson price until another pack is bought.
- If a pack was sold with an expiry date, its unused credits stop counting after that date on your centre's calendar. Nothing is charged for it.
- Un-marking a lesson gives its credit back exactly once.
- A pack refund is sent to the payment provider first. If the provider refuses, nothing else changes.
- Staff pack sales are refused while your centre is holding family charging until a date.
