Ending an online lesson and confirming the roll

End the lesson for everyone, then confirm the roll the classroom filled in from who was connected.

Updated 18 October 2026

Why this exists

The end of an online lesson is when the record gets made: who came, what was charged and what goes home. Here the roll is filled in from who was actually connected, so tutors check it rather than type it. The board can go home to the family as a PDF, and the wrap-up follows as for any lesson.

End the lesson

Choose End lesson. Everyone leaves the room at once. If you forget, the classroom closes by itself a while after the lesson's booked end.

Confirm the roll

After the lesson you see Confirm the roll. It is filled in from who was connected:

  1. Check each student's mark.
  2. Change anything that is wrong.
  3. Choose Confirm the roll.

The family is charged from the roll exactly as for a lesson at the centre, so check it before you confirm.

The board goes home

The board can be saved as a PDF. Families find it under Boards from recent lessons on their home page.

Then wrap up

Write your notes and the update for the family on the lesson's Wrap up page, as for any lesson.

Good to know

  • If your centre lets tutors take lesson notes from their own words, the wrap-up offers Use what I said in the lesson. This may not be switched on for your centre yet. Only your own microphone is used, and nothing a child says is used.
